We want to congratulate Catherine on being selected to coach the U14 Girls state team.

Catherine is one of our original girls who joined Eastern Saints at its inception in 2008 and represented our club as an U14 and U16 representative several years in a row.

With full time studies, part time work and coaching commitments, Catherine still finds the time to mentor and coach the junior and Women’s team and plays for our B Women team.

We are very proud of Catherine’s achievements and wish her well in the future

 

FINA have now launched the new 2013 – 2017 Waterpolo Rules Handbook which has some significant changes in it from the pervious version. Waterpolo AU have decided to hold off implementing the new rules at national level until after the U16’s National Club Championships. Click here to see a briefing sheet prepared by Waterpolo AU on the significant changes. Also available is a new hand book which has the changes highlighted for easy of reference.

On the weekend of 1st to the 4th July 2012 three Eastern Saints players, Mirella Di Cesare, Jack Williams and Huey Smith gained state colours in the 2012 East Coast Challenge in Melbourne. The Victorian Schools Waterpolo run competition saw the South Australian girls and boys facing 6 other state teams from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. In the boys comp the South Australian team exceeded expectations and finished a strong 5th overall. Both Jack and Huey scored for their SA team with 3 and 10 goals respectively, supporting wins against Victoria White and Queensland White. In the Girls competition Mirella and the South Australian team came 7th in a very strong field. The SA squad did however win convincingly against Victoria White in the playoffs and Mirella scored in that match to bring her tally of goals for the competition to 3.
The Club is extremely proud of their state reps (and their parents) and hopes that they and others will continue to represent their club state and even at some point their country. WELL DONE.

Today (22 January 2012) sees the conclusion of the Under 20’s National Championships at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, where two of our players Alex Procter and Sam Huisintveld have been in action. The competition was played between state teams from South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand (in the womens comp) and show cased the countries U20’s talent. It was SA’s womens team that competed to a much higher standard than previous years securing a very comfortable 5th place. A position that could have been even higher had the team not narrowly missed out on a semi final spot to NSW Waratahs through a complicated “count back” system. SA and the Waratahs finished on the same points only to see the Waratahs claim the 4th spot. The SA men finished in 6th place having started their campaign very brightly.
Well done to Alex and Sam and all the volunteers that helped out over the week from a very proud Eastern Saints club.
